Southampton Branch

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity founded in 1927 and we are one of over 260 volunteer run branches and 29 adoption centres, covering England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

We try to ensure that every cat is given the chance of a life where it will be treated with kindness and understanding. And we never put a cat, kitten, elderly or ill cat to sleep except on clear veterinary advice.

Here, in the Southampton area there is no adoption centre, so we care for cats in volunteer foster homes, in spare rooms or cat pens. In the past we have re-homed over one hundred cats a year. This year we are hoping to expand so that we may help the poor moggies that previously we have had to turn away.

Therefore, we shall shortly be looking for new foster homes, so if you, or someone you know might be interested, watch this space!

Happy Endings

For our happy endings of cats homed, please see our  Success Stories.

Lyric (and Tequila)Can you give Lyric (and Tequila) a home?

Lyric is 12 years old and is the mother of 10 year old tortoiseshell Tequila. Sadly, they lost their home when they had to be left behind when their owner emigrated. Tequila has had some dental work and is left with only two teeth, but still enjoys her food. She has a cataract in one eye which the vet thinks was brought on by an accident in kittenhood. Mother and daughter like to groom each other and purr readily when stroked. These two girls are waiting patiently for a new home together.
